South Gower 36 - 0 Penclawdd
Match summary

In the first away fixture of the new season for the 2nd XV, the match ended in disappointment with the side conceding six tries to nil, four of which came in the last ten minutes of the game.
The first score came after three minutes of the first half, when the Penclawdd backs lost the ball in the shadow of their own posts, and then were penalised for trying to win back the ball illegally. South Gower kicked to touch, and from a strong lineout drove over to make the score 5 - 0.
The rest of the first half was hard fought with neither side establishing any control over the game, the play was broken and disjointed, and the only incident of note came when South Gower added to their try tally, in similar circumstances to their first, the forwards took the ball on from the lineout and drove their way over the line, the conversion was added and the half time score stood at 12- 0
At the start of the second half Penclawdd showed more urgency and were unlucky not to get on the score sheet when number eight Stuart John crossed the line, the referee was unsighted and did not award the try. The scores remained 12-0 until the last ten minutes of the game, but then Penclawdd were badly hit by four injuries that led to players leaving the field. This resulted in a re-shuffle of the side with people playing out of position. To their credit South Gower took full advantage of the situation and added a further four tries in the closing minutes of the match. It was a disappointing score line for the visitors, and did not reflect how close the game was.
